GSL Education are currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive SEND school in Gainsborough. This full-time role is ideal for someone with experience or a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to students with complex needs, including personal care where required
Work alongside class teachers and other support staff to deliver engaging and accessible lessons
Support with sensory and therapeutic activities to enhance learning
Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
Monitor and record students' progress in line with EHCP targets
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly PMLD
A calm, patient, and empathetic nature
Understanding of or willingness to learn Makaton, PECS, or other communication methods
A valid Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education
The ability to work as part of a committed and friendly team
