Mechanical Project Manager
The position involves supporting our Mechanical business, mainly servicing Data Centre clients. The role primarily focuses on clients in and around London but may require travel outside London as the business expands. Currently, the client has premises in Hemel Hempstead, with no international travel anticipated.
The role mainly entails project delivery with commercial responsibility, client relationship management, and ensuring high-quality project execution focused on installation standards.
Close collaboration with various stakeholders is essential, including designers, architects, estimating, project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, client agents, and commissioning teams. You will oversee projects from conception to completion, ensuring proper resourcing and professional closure.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

6. Manage tenders, liaising with design, estimating, and commercial teams, ensuring timely and quality delivery.
7. Understand client requirements, technical specs, drawings, and project needs.
8. Experience with RIBA design, delivery, and commissioning stages.
9. Identify, manage, and escalate project risks, mitigate with sound deployment of contracts and design portions.
10. Contribute to project sequencing and manage against the programme.
11. Ensure key milestones are met and foresee potential issues.
12. Prepare and present progress reports to stakeholders.
13. Develop and close RFIs, TQs, technical submissions, and resolve raised issues.
14. Make sound decisions under pressure, think logically and laterally to solve problems.
15. Manage time effectively, delegate tasks, and prioritize deadlines.
16. Understand project governance and procedural compliance.
17. Maintain commercial awareness, manage variations, delays, and EOT, liaising with QS teams.
18. Understand JCT contracts.
19. Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and consultants, exercising assertiveness when necessary.
20. Coordinate work packages, understand trade interactions, and foresee issues.
21. Know CDM regulations and responsibilities under appointments.
22. Be adaptable and willing to learn new methods.
23. Highlight commercial risks and mitigation strategies.
24. Upskill team members and conduct PDRs for direct reports.

27. Identify opportunities for new business, upsell, and add value to maximize profit.
