Overview
Central Alliance, part of the RSK Group, has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Land Surveyor to join the team in Wakefield, UK. The role is based out of the Wakefield Office but involves nationwide field work and travel with overnight stays in hotels. It is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the Associate Director.
The vacancy is within Central Alliance, a UK-based ground engineering technical services business providing site investigation, surveying, instrumentation, monitoring and technology-led solutions alongside remedial techniques for slope stabilisation and dewatering.
Responsibilities
* Adhere to working instructions from internal and external clients.
* Carry out topographical and associated geomatic surveys, using Total Station, 3D Laser Scanning and GNSS.
* Undertake post-processing of data and production of outputs using survey software.
* Compile survey reports and documentation in conjunction with the Project & CAD Manager.
* Maintain vehicles and survey equipment in line with company expectations.
* Undertake internal and external training as part of a personal development plan.
* Demonstrate a keen attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
* Provide training and mentoring to junior staff.
* Adhere to all RSK and client policies and procedures when on site.
* Maintain and develop technical knowledge (e.g., British Standards and industry standards) with company support.
About You
* Minimum of 5 years industry experience in a similar role is required.
* Experience in the use of Total Stations and GNSS is essential.
* Experience in the use of 3D Laser Scanners is preferred but not essential.
* Experience of using n4ce and Trimble Realworks software is desirable but not essential.
* CSCS card holder essential.
* Relevant NVQ or degree level qualification is desirable but not essential.
* Willingness to attend internal and external training courses as required by qualifications held.
* Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a multidisciplinary team and also work solo using initiative.
* Self-motivated, solutions-focused, organized with effective time management.
* Professional and courteous in business interactions at all times.
* Familiar with data management tools and reporting software including Microsoft Office; training provided on other software.
* Adaptable to variable working environments with the ability to work remotely around the UK and some overseas travel.
* Willingness to work flexible hours when required.
* Manual, valid UK driving license.
* Commitment to safety and improving ways of working.
* Unrestricted work rights in the United Kingdom.
