JOB DESCRIPTION
Overall purpose The Intervention Manager will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of targeted strategies to improve student outcomes in line with OfS Condition B3. This role will ensure evidence-based interventions are effectively designed, monitored, and refined to address disparities in continuation, completion, and progression across student demographics.
Roles and responsibilities
• Collaborate with stakeholders to design and oversee targeted interventions (e.g., academic support, mentoring, wellbeing initiatives) to improve student outcomes, ensuring alignment with the institution’s Access and Participation Plan (APP).
• Collaborate with academic and professional services teams to embed inclusive practices in teaching, learning, and student support.
• Collaborate with stakeholder to develop action plans to close attainment gaps for underrepresented student groups. Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination • Work closely with the academic, student services, admissions, and the analytics & insights team to implement interventions at scale.
• Engage students as partners in co-designing solutions through focus groups, surveys, and representation.
• Liaise with external partners (e.g., OfS, sector networks) to adopt best practices. Monitoring & Evaluation
• Track intervention effectiveness using quantitative and qualitative data, adjusting strategies as needed.
• Report on progress to senior leadership (Provost, GCCO, COO) with actionable insights.
• Conduct impact assessments and refine approaches based on outcomes. Compliance & Reporting
• Ensure interventions meet OfS B3 regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to annual reports on institutional performance and improvement initiatives.
Person Specification
• Experience in designing and managing student success interventions in higher education.
• Strong understanding of equity challenges in student outcomes (e.g., ethnicity, disability, socioeconomic gaps).
• Ability to analyse data to inform decision-making.
• Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills. Desirable
• Knowledge of OfS regulatory framework, particularly Condition B3.
• Experience in change management or institutional policy development
