Description
The Head of Foundation Finance will oversee all financial activities, including high-level preparation of statutory accounts, complex ledger postings, and accruals, ensuring robust financial control for the charity. This senior role is vital for aligning funding with strategic goals. The role is based in an ambitious and inclusive boarding school in East Surrey.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with Charity Commission regulations and FRS 102.
* Manage complex ledger postings, including accruals, prepayments, and deferred income, ensuring accuracy in financial records.
* Maintain robust financial controls, lead audit preparation, and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
* Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis to ensure long-term financial sustainability for the Foundation.
* Ensure compliance with all tax requirements (e.g., VAT and Gift Aid) and regulatory obligations.
Profile
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
* Proven experience in preparing statutory accounts and managing financial operations, preferably in a charity or school setting.
* Advanced proficiency in financial software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar) and Excel.
* Strong leadership ability to manage a team and work closely with trustees and school leadership.
