Job Description:
NextGen Teachers are recruiting for a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school near Wembley supporting pupils in KS1 & KS2 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a temporary role with the potential to become permanent, ideal for someone with a strong background in SEN or SEMH support and a passion for inclusive education.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH, autism, and developmental delays
Support emotional regulation, behaviour management, and communication development
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families
Promote independence, resilience, and positive relationships in the classroom
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Previous experience in a Special Needs (SEN) or SEMH school setting
Confident supporting pupils with additional needs.
Skilled in de-escalation, redirection, and behaviour management techniques
Holds a relevant qualification (not essential)
Trained in safeguarding, mental health, and behaviour that challenges
Available for immediate start
