Overview
The Atkinson in Southport is a leading arts centre housing a museum, galleries, library, cafe, shop, theatre and studio. We are seeking to recruit an Operations Assistant to join the team. Operational support is critical to the day-to-day management of the Atkinson's building and facilities, including delivery of all programmes and services. The Atkinson's programme features many events delivered during evenings and at weekends. The postholder will be required to work a proportion of their hours at these times, when it is necessary to meet the needs of the service.
Responsibilities
* Provide operational support for the day-to-day management of the Atkinson's building and facilities.
* Coordinate and support delivery of programmes and services, including events that take place in the evenings and at weekends.
* Engage with members of the public and maintain a welcoming environment.
* Support maintenance and management of contract services or other general duties in a public building.
Qualifications
* Experience of working in a public building with responsibility for general maintenance, management of contract services or similar duties.
* Experience in a technical or practical field, such as engineering or electrical work.
* Effective teamwork, good interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to engage with the public.
* Commitment to promoting culture and heritage to support The Atkinson's status as a dynamic regional arts venue.
