Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable qualified Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor) to join our caring and progressive Health Visiting service.

The closing date is 02 October 2025.

We provide a health visiting service that supports families (adults) with children aged zero to five. You will manage a varied caseload and be confident and flexible to provide the best support for new and growing families. You will work as part of a team to keep children safe and well by using your clinical judgment to support evidence-based care planning and ensure that children and families have a positive experience.


Main duties of the job

What will the role involve?

* Contributing to antenatal and postnatal care programmes
* Completing HCP mandated reviews, packages of care and safeguarding
* Supporting in the supervision/line management and development of colleagues
* Undertaking a range of competent clinical and non-clinical interventions to support outcomes for families and the service
* Attend and contribute to team meetings
* Building relationships with colleagues to enhance the team working environment

We have full and part-time opportunities ranging from a minimum of 22.5 hours to a maximum of 37.5 hours per week between 9am to 5pm. This is a community-based role, so the majority of duties will be carried out between your base and community settings or client homes.

Person Specification


Qualifications, Training and Experience

* SCPHN Qualification


Knowledge and Skills

* Sound communication skills to understand and communicate both verbally and in writing
* Awareness of developments within the NHS
* Able to use IT systems and databases
* Work well under pressure and be able to organise own work
* Client-focused approach
* Knowledge of up-to-date clinical practice by using current skills and adhering to evidence-based procedures and clinical effectiveness frameworks; fully understanding the role and remit of a SCPHN
* Adaptable and able to work within own limits


Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a submission for Disclosure to the DBS to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Salary: £38,682 to £46,580 per year, pro rata
