Highly Specialised Echo Cardiac Physiologist
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to join our specialist team of Cardiac Physiologists at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW).
UHCW is one of the largest acute Trusts in the country. We offer a region-leading Cardiac Imaging Service with the full repertoire of echocardiography, including Complex ACHD, 3D Echocardiography, Pharmacological and Exercise Ischaemic Stress Echo, Strain Echocardiography, TOE, DSE, Transcatheter Structural Intervention and Cardio-Oncology Echocardiography. We also provide Advanced Cardiac Imaging input to regional hospitals and West Midlands MDTs, and support CDC services.
The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, hardworking and motivated to join our team. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both as part of a team and independently are essential.
Applicants may be asked to provide an immunisation and vaccination report from their UK occupational health provider or UK GP.
Responsibilities
* Be a competent practitioner in echocardiography procedures, able to autonomously perform routine and complex diagnostic echocardiography procedures.
* Participate in the day-to-day running of the department to ensure the smooth delivery of a high-quality service.
* Independently assess referred patients, monitor the appropriateness of referrals, obtain information relevant to patient care, interpret and report clinical findings, and ensure appropriate discharge or ongoing care.
* Provide teaching and support to all members of the department and to medical staff learning technical cardiology.
* Work between the main hospital site at UHCW and CDC sites as required.
* Encourage and support junior staff to obtain BSE accreditation.
