A leading innovative scientific publisher is looking to recruit an Editorial Coordinator/Senior Editorial Coordinator to join their dynamic team focused on the development and management of their prestigious healthcare journals. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in content commissioning, strategic journal development, and editorial processes. This role can be worked on a hybrid basis, attending the office once a month. Reporting to the Publisher, the Editorial Coordinator/Senior Editorial Coordinator will focus on content commissioning and acquisition, strategic journal development, peer review, production and Editorial Board Management. This role will also offer the opportunity to take on journal management responsibilities, contributing more broadly to the success of the publishing process. Some of the key responsibilities will include: Content Commissioning & Acquisition : Collaborating with journal editors to identify and commission high-quality content. Strategic Journal Development : Contributing to the growth and success of a list journals through author and editor engagement. Peer Review & Editorial Board Management : Supporting editorial workflows, managing peer review processes, and facilitate communication among authors, editors, and reviewers. Journal Management Tasks : Taking the lead on various journal management responsibilities, including tracking manuscript permissions and managing author/review correspondence. Production & Publication : Overseeing the production and publication processes for six journals under the cardiology imprint. Who We’re Looking For: This role would suit an ambitious and pro-active individual who has a proven understanding of editorial and production processes (ideally open access) and how journals serve the research community. 1-2 years’ experience in STM/academic journal publishing. Familiarity with electronic editorial management systems and an understanding of editorial and production processes, ideally in the context of open access publishing. A degree or equivalent in a life science subject (desirable) Knowledge of rights, permissions, and publishing ethics is a plus. Ability to engage effectively with physicians and the research community for manuscript production and publication.
