The Role
Responsible for procuring construction materials and plant for regional sites, ensuring quality and timely delivery while achieving best value.
* Manage enquiries from drawings and monitor procurement schedules to meet deadlines.
* Follow up on quotes to ensure timely responses.
* Place orders and coordinate with technical teams for approval.
* Develop material budgets for each site/phase, including sub-contract elements like windows, doors, curtain walling, and steelwork.
* Prepare quote comparisons and tender review documents for large orders.
* Draft sub-contract documents for approval and issue of Call off Contracts/PSIs.
* Generate monthly cost reports for review with the Commercial Director.
* Estimate materials for enquiries and place orders accordingly.
* Resolve invoice queries related to purchasing and site activities.
* Attend site and project meetings regularly.
* Ensure timely closure of issues and follow-up actions from meetings.
* Meet with suppliers onsite or in the office to resolve problems and discuss supply or product issues.
* Develop value engineering reviews for materials.
* Collaborate closely with the Technical Department to ensure specifications and approvals are met.
Experience Required
Technical Competencies:
* Experience in construction supply chain or property development preferred.
* Ability to work independently and generate solutions.
* Desirable: ability to interpret technical drawings.
* Proficient in IT, especially advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
