Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled chef to join a local country pub culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality grilled dishes in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Hours to begin with:
Mondays = 10am through to 3pm
Tuesdays = 10am through to 3pm and then 5pm to 10pm
This will open up more hours as it gets warmer and into spring/summer time
Duties
* Prepare and cook a variety of grilled dishes according to recipes and customer specifications
* Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the grill station and surrounding areas
* Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure optimal quality and safety
* Assist in food plating and presentation to meet restaurant standards
* Restock ingredients and supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
* Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent service during busy periods
* Follow all food safety procedures, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices
Experience
* Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment
* Knowledge of kitchen safety standards and food hygiene regulations
* Previous experience working as a grill cook or in a similar culinary position is desirable
* Familiarity with meal preparation techniques, food safety protocols, and restaurant operations
* Experience serving customers or working in a fast-paced setting is advantageous
