Job Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Working Supervisor to lead and work alongside our groundworks team on the next pod of 50-plots on a large scale housing development. The role involves coordinating daily site activities while actively participating in the work to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and productivity. The Working Supervisor will report to — and work closely with — the Site Manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, motivate, and support site operatives while working alongside them.
* Plan and coordinate daily groundworks activities (foundations, drainage, externals, services).
* Report progress, issues, and resource needs directly to the Site Manager.
* Ensure work is delivered safely, on time, and to specification.
* Monitor materials, plant, and labour requirements.
* Liaise with the Site Manager, engineers, and subcontractors.
* Carry out quality checks and uphold site safety standards.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in groundworks on housing developments.
* Previous supervisory/lead hand experience.
* Strong knowledge of Health & Safety (SMSTS/SSSTS desirable).
* Plant Tickets CPCS/NPORS
* Ability to lead by example and work as part of the team.

Contract length: 4 months
Pay: From £230.00 per day
