The Mobile Plant Operator will operate heavy plant (compactor, tracked loading shovel, ADT excavator etc.) to maximize void usage and ensure compliance with Site Environmental Permit A quick look at the role. The Mobile Plant Operator duties will consist of the following: Operation of mobile plant on landfill site to ensure compliance with Environmental Permit. Undertaking pre start checks of heavy plant and equipment and to ensure routine maintenance of plant and defects are reported on a daily basis. Compliance with Health & Safety at Work Act and any other relevant legislation and Group standards. Reporting Accidents, near miss and incidents in a timely manner. Attending SIT meetings and any other safety related tasks to raise the standards at site. Engaging and driving operational excellence as direct by other stake holders on site. Promoting a positive safety, health and wellbeing culture at site Ensuring a good customer care and positive interactions with customers, drivers and other stake holders Litter Picking and other General labouring duties Attend internal and external training courses to increase competency and continual professional development. To promote a positive culture of safety and attend SIT meetings monthly. Maintain housekeeping to the safe and high standard that Biffa require Requirements CITB Health & Safety Test or equivalent Minimum 2 years relevant experience in operating heavy plant.
