Position Overview
As a Preventative Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maximizing the operational availability of our equipment. Working closely with the controller, you will perform timely and efficient routine and preventative maintenance servicing, conduct machine inspections, and identify potential issues that may impact availability. You will also carry out minor repairs as needed, all while promoting a culture of safety for yourself and our customers.
Key Responsibilities
* Preventative Maintenance Servicing: Conduct routine servicing of equipment in line with manufacturer guidelines, including taking routine oil samples (75%)
* Machine Inspection: Perform visual and mechanical analysis of machine conditions, highlighting developing issues with systems and components (20%)
* Minor Repairs: Complete minor repairs identified during inspections, install telematic systems, and conduct undercarriage inspections (5%)

Working Conditions
This is a field-based role, and it is essential that all drivers have held a full driving license for at least 2 years. Working hours are 43 hours per week with flexible start and finish times, Monday to Friday, and one Saturday in three at an overtime rate.
Qualifications & Skills
We are looking for candidates who possess:
* A basic knowledge of the four main product elements: Engines, Hydraulics, Powertrain, and Vehicle Electrics/Electronics
* Direct experience (around 3 years) in a related engineering function, such as car mechanic, HGV fitter, or Agricultural Engineer
* A formal apprenticeship qualification that includes at least C&G level 1
* Health & Safety training is desirable but not essential, as further training will be provided
