TimePlan Education is looking for a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs in a specialist provision in Plymouth. This is a rewarding long-term role for someone passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable learners.
🔹 The Role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs
Build trusted relationships and deliver consistent emotional and behavioural support
Assist with personalised learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff
Help create a safe, supportive learning environment
Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and external agencies
Support pupils during off-site activities - a driving licence and access to a car are essential
🔹 What We're Looking For
Experience working with SEMH, challenging behaviour, OR youth work (preferred but not essential)
Strong behaviour-management skills and emotional resilience
A nurturing, patient and proactive approach
Ability to build rapport and engage learners with complex needs
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
