Your impact
As Health and Safety Manager, you'll be at the heart of one of the UK's most impressive (prestigious/largest) infrastructure programmes
Your work will directly influence the health, safety and wellbeing culture across major civil engineering projects, including HS2 and beyond
You'll be instrumental in embedding our 'Safe at Heart' ethos, ensuring that safety isn't just a priority — it's a core value
By being visible and proactive on site, you will build strong relationships with contractors to jointly address issues on site and drive improvements
You will have confidence in calling out unsafe behaviours or conditions when needed and providing guidance and support to the wider delivery team throughout the project

About The Opportunity
We have a brand-new position within a growing team, based in either Birmingham or Milton Keynes
You'll be working client-side, embedded within one of our Integrated Project Team (IPT) Joint Venture Partnerships.
Initially a standalone role, there's potential for the team to double in size, offering exciting career development opportunities
You'll report into a senior management team that values boots-on-the-ground experience and proactive engagement
Expect to spend around three days a week on-site, working closely with civils contractors to coach the teams, influence positive behaviours, identify risks, support investigations, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and security standards
Your work will span a wide range of activities — from lifting operations and plant safety to occupational health and security assurance
You'll also play a key role in promoting Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion across everything you do
Here's what you'll need

Proven experience in health and safety within major infrastructure or complex programmes
NEBOSH Construction certificate essential
Strong knowledge of occupational health, safety, and security legislation
Ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively with contractors and stakeholders
A professional qualification in Health and Safety or equivalent experience
Experience in / ability to assist with the production and review of technical reports including assurance and investigation reports
Comfortable working around plant and site operations
Logical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
