We are currently seeking an Engineering Manager to join the Decommissioning & Waste Services (DWS) market within our Nuclear & Power business. Ideally based in Northwest England, but other UK locations can be considered.
Reporting to the Engineering Management lead, you will lead, direct, and coordinate our Engineering Management resources to manage the delivery of engineering packages.
The successful candidate will have a strong engineering background and support resource planning, recruitment, and capability development to ensure successful project delivery. You will manage technical projects involving multidisciplinary teams and interface with other construction disciplines, focusing on projects that contribute to the decommissioning of nuclear facilities across the UK.
This role involves working in a market focused on engineering and waste management projects within the Nuclear Decommissioning sector, with expertise in mechanical handling, machinery design & control, structural design & analysis, and low voltage power distribution. You will work on projects with diverse engineering and safety challenges requiring proactive, skilled teams working collaboratively.

The Role
* Oversee the creation and delivery of high-quality engineering solutions in line with our Sector Management System.
* Identify and manage technical risks throughout the project lifecycle, including design, substantiation, and refurbishment tasks.
* Manage an engineering delivery team leveraging our capabilities, technology, and products to produce innovative solutions and support continuous improvement.
* Negotiate with stakeholders and supply chain to develop requirements, oversee team competency, and foster continuous assessment and improvement.
The Individual
* Strong background in engineering, with experience leading multidisciplinary projects, especially in nuclear engineering design and substantiation, with knowledge of UK and international codes and regulations.
* Ability to promote AtkinsRéalis as a reputable partner through technical excellence and quality delivery, managing bid teams, and collaborating across the business.
* Proven leadership skills to manage and motivate teams, with a self-motivated, collaborative approach.
