The opportunity
We are looking for a Commercial Sales Manager to join our Birmingham City Centre team. This is a high-impact role focused on generating sponsorship revenue across both retainer and contingency projects.
You will build your own pipeline, engage senior decision-makers and close deals that directly contribute to the growth of the business. You will work closely with the UK Managing Director and play a key role in shaping commercial activity.

What you will be doing:
Retained Sponsorship sales
* Lead outbound sponsorship sales activity for SGI clients
* Build relationships with senior stakeholders including CMOs, Marketing Directors and CEOs
* Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle
* Deliver against monthly and quarterly revenue targets
* Provide clear pipeline updates and reporting to clients
Contingent Sponsorship sales
* Identify and pursue new sponsorship opportunities across SGI properties and events
* Create tailored commercial proposals and partnership packages
* Negotiate and close deals that deliver direct revenue to SGI
* Stay informed on market trends and emerging brands
Pipeline and CRM management
* Maintain accurate and up to date records in HubSpot
* Log all sales activity including calls, emails and meetings
* Produce weekly pipeline reports for senior leadership
Leadership and stakeholder engagement
* Act as a senior commercial voice within the business
* Contribute to the development of sponsorship strategy
* Represent SGI at industry events and client meetings
* Support and mentor junior team members where appropriate
What we are looking for:
Experience
* Proven success in sponsorship or commercial partnership sales
* Experience within sport, media or events is preferred
* Strong track record of engaging and closing senior decision-makers
* Understanding of sponsorship structures and brand objectives
* Experience using HubSpot or a similar CRM
* Previous experience mentoring or managing others is a plus
Personal qualities
* Commercially driven with the ability to structure and close deals
* Confident communicator, comfortable at senior level
* Organised and strategic, with a strong focus on results
* Resilient, self-motivated and consistent in output
* Genuine interest in sport, particularly football
* Professional and credible in client-facing environments
* Full UK driving licence
