You will be working as part of the therapy team and the wider Multidisciplinary Team. Developing your clinical and interdisciplinary team working skills and support your career development. We have an exciting Band 6 position to support our Healthcare of Older Peoples (HCOP) and Short Stay teams. This role consists of working in both the HCOP team and Short Stay team. The specific days will be confirmed once appointed. Currently the positions cover our HCOP and Short Stay wards at Good Hope hospitals. You will work as part of the therapy team supporting patients to return home as soon as possible by providing timely and regular therapy interventions maximising their chances of staying at home. Are you dynamic, innovative and highly motivated HCPC registered Physiotherapist with experience in a broad range of therapy teams/clinical areas. You will be an excellent team worker with knowledge across a range of Physiotherapy treatments. Alternatively, this experience could be invaluable for your career progression to Band 7 roles. Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required
To provide therapeutic assessment, management and treatment of patients in a variety of specialties within the Acute hospital setting; working within the HCOP and Short Stay teams at Good Hope hospitals. Focusing interventions to a wide variety of clinical cases, applying physiotherapy knowledge. There will be a strong focus on facilitating discharges home, or to other care pathways. You should possess excellent communication, prioritisation and organisational skills; and have experience in working in a multidisciplinary team. Undertaking all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner and maintain associated records. Furthermore, assisting with supervision, education and co-ordination of generic Therapy Support Workers and Junior therapists.
You should be willing to participate in seven days working.

Qualifications
* Diploma / degree in physiotherapy.
* Current registration with Health Care Professions Council.
* A levels or equivalent qualification
* Good standard of general education including GCSE maths and English grade C and above.
* Evidence of CPD including recent post graduate training relevant to clinical speciality.
Desirable
* Evidence of leadership training.
* Attendance at Clinical Educators Course.
Experience
* Demonstrates comprehensive clinical experience enabling the post holder to manage a caseload of patients with complex needs in this speciality.
* Significant experience of working in an acute hospital setting including acute hospital experience in a broad variety of clinical areas
* Experience of team/service development.
* Experience of supporting and supervision of junior therapists, student physiotherapists and assistants.
* A specialist knowledge across a range of therapy practices, routine and non-routine, requiring expertise within the field of therapy.
* Good understanding of working in an Acute Hospital Trust.
* Understanding of current legislation and application to Physiotherapy.
Additional Criteria
* Highly developed physical skills including dexterity, co-ordination & sensory skills for assessment and manual treatment of patients.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills including an ability to provide and receive complex, sensitive and contentious information.
* An ability to prioritise and organise own workload.
* An ability to cope with a range of complex options, finds solutions, analyse, compare and decide on appropriate course of action.
* An ability to work as part of a multi- disciplinary team utilising generic therapy competencies
* IT skills -- computer literate in email, Word & PowerPoint
* Demonstrate enthusiasm for the specialist areas.
* Demonstrate a professional attitude.
* An ability to cope with moving/manoeuvring patients/equipment on a daily basis.
* An ability to frequently concentrate on patient assessments and treatments.
* An ability to cope with occasional exposure to distressing/emotional situations.
* Able to contribute to weekend and evening service.
* Ability to take part in respiratory on- call rota
* Demonstrate an interest in developing expertise within the clinical area.
