As they continue to enhance their environmental capability, we are seeking an experienced Environmental Consultant to provide specialist guidance and assurance across a diverse range of construction, facilities management, and infrastructure activities within a high profile operational environment.
The Opportunity
This role is ideal for an environmental specialist who thrives in technically complex settings and enjoys influencing best practice across multidisciplinary teams. You will act as the subject matter expert for all environmental considerations, ensuring that projects and operational activities are delivered responsibly, compliantly, and in line with evolving regulatory expectations.
Your overarching purpose will be:
To lead environmental assurance across construction, FM, and infrastructure operations embedding robust environmental standards, driving compliance, and safeguarding the organisation s commitment to sustainable, responsible delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert environmental guidance across construction, facilities management, and infrastructure programmes within a regulated operational environment.
* Lead environmental assurance activities, ensuring alignment with legislation, industry standards, and internal governance.
* Support the development, implementation, and continual improvement of environmental management systems.
* Conduct audits, inspections, and compliance reviews to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
* Advise on environmental impacts, mitigation strategies, and sustainable best practice.
* Collaborate with project teams, operational leads, and stakeholders to embed environmental considerations throughout project lifecycles.
About You
You will bring:
* Strong experience in environmental management within construction, infrastructure, engineering, or regulated industrial environments.
* Solid understanding of environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks.
* Previous experience of Defence projects would be beneficial
* Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and its application within complex operational settings.
* Familiarity with COMAH environments and associated compliance requirements.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to guide and challenge stakeholders at all levels.
* A proactive, solutions focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
