Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll processing for our UK-based employees in a fully remote environment. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely payroll operations while maintaining compliance with UK payroll regulations and HMRC requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Process monthly/weekly payroll for UK employees accurately and on time
* Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions
* Manage PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, and statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP)
* Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and RTI (Real Time Information) submissions
* Maintain and update employee payroll records
* Handle payroll queries and resolve discrepancies
* Prepare payroll reports and reconciliations
* Coordinate with HR and finance teams on employee data changes
* Support audits and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or Payroll Administrator in the UK
* Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, PAYE, NI, and HMRC processes
* Experience with payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, ADP, Xero, or similar)
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Strong numerical and analytical skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
* Ability to work independently in a remote setup
Preferred Qualifications:
* CIPP (Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals) qualification or equivalent
* Experience managing payroll for multiple entities or large employee bases
* Familiarity with pensions auto-enrolment
* Experience in a remote or global work environment
