Deputy Site Security Controller
This role is full-time onsite at DXC Erskine / Mon-Fri office hours.
* Candidates must be a UK national/British citizen and have resided in the UK for the past 5-10 years to meet current SC and future DV security clearance requirements.*
The Deputy Site Security Controller (SSC) supports the Site Security Controller (SSC) in delivering site-related security activities such as new starter briefings, registration and management of classified assets, managing safes, and overseeing passes for employees. The Deputy SSC reports to the Group Security Controller (GSC).
The Deputy SSC will work from a dedicated DXC site but may also have security responsibilities for satellite sites in a wider geographical area.
The Deputy SSC also acts as the site Deputy Crypto Custodian, responsible for the safe custody, registration, mustering, handling, and disposal of cryptographic items.
Responsibilities
* Maintain a register of all security cabinets on the site.
* Ensure secure cabinet combinations are changed according to policy.
* Assist in overseeing site security equipment such as CCTV, alarms, locks, and AACS.
* Review access lists to sensitive areas regularly.
* Register and control classified assets locally.
* Conduct musters and spot checks of classified assets.
* Manage the classified asset database.
* Ensure visitor processes comply with DXC policy.
* Deliver security induction training to new starters, including remotely.
* Assist in security audits (internal and external).
* Maintain good relationships with other departments.
* Act as security point of contact in the absence of the SSC.
* Perform other security tasks as directed by the GSC.
Crypto Responsibilities
* Handle cryptographic material according to JSP 490 guidelines.
* Maintain accurate records of cryptographic items issued and received.
* Ensure personnel hold appropriate vetting levels.
* Issue cryptographic items with proper security orders.
* Review cryptographic holdings regularly.
* Follow key management procedures as per JSP 490 and company policy.
Required Skills
* Experience in information or physical security, ideally in Defence or Government.
* Ability to achieve UK National Security clearance.
* Experience in asset management/registrar roles.
* Good analytical and communication skills.
* Attention to detail.
* Attended a recognised Crypto Custodians course such as UKNDA.
* Knowledge of handling cryptographic material.
