The Opportunity:
This Research Assistant position will contribute to the Edinburgh Home Demonstrator project Phase II within the Institute for Infrastructure and Environment at the University of Edinburgh, which is funded by the Scottish Government and in collaboration with colleagues at the Built Environment Smarter Transformation (BE-ST).
We are looking for a Research Assistant who can support the principal investigator in conducting on-site building envelope evaluations (U-value, airtightness, thermography and climatic data analysis) required for the Granton D1 pilot study as part of the Edinburgh Home Demonstrator project Phase II. The work will require deploying and downloading data from sensors and data loggers, as well as performing specific spot tests and evaluations during the visits. The data obtained will then be analysed and compared with as-designed building calculations performed by project architects and energy assessors. Reporting the outcomes and results in a detailed report will be performed after the evaluations and data analysis with the possibility to disseminate further the outcomes in a conference/ journal paper.
This role is UE06 and is available on a fixed-term basis for up to 10 months.
