Working for Industrial Assembly Solutions (IAS) Customer Centre (CC) UK and reporting to the local Business Line Manager (BLM), the LKAM should act as the customer contact for designated programs to ensure the customer’s joining needs are satisfied through collaboration with relevant IAS Product Companies (PCs) and CC teams. This role is key to profitable growth for the CC with tangible benefits to our customers.
What your day will involve:
Working in close cooperation with the Business Line Manager: Mechanical Joining, the Local Key Account Manager will be a primary technical and commercial point of contact with the customers for agreed customer accounts and opportunities, to ensure customer needs are understood and satisfied. Primarily Midlands-based, you will primarily support selected Motor Vehicle Industry accounts throughout the UK. You will be customer-facing and to be successful will require collaboration with the relevant Product Company Proposals, Projects, R&D and Product Management teams.
The role:
1. You will be responsible for assigned customer accounts by performing the following duties personally as well as utilizing the varied available internal/external resources.
2. Ensure Atlas Copco is positioned as a strategic partner by bringing a high level of joining competence.
3. Achieve sales of joining technologies in line with agreed targets.
4. Increase sales effectiveness by pursuing high-potential accounts and opportunities.
5. Contribute to sales budgets, forecasts and pipeline plans.
6. Create, maintain and execute customer-specific business plans for selected accounts, including Mission, Vision, Goals, and Business Position.
7. Provide customer quotations.
8. Generate new opportunities in selected customers and markets.
9. Support the customer in identifying optimized joining processes. In all IAS cases, this will include working with the Product Company to make recommendations for the best-tailored solutions – this includes identifying correct rivet and die combinations to enable the successful joining of the customer’s car body material.
10. Identification of the correct application technology match to the correct material type is key.
11. Drive the customer design teams to use the most up-to-date IAS equipment specifications and data files.
12. Provide technical support.
13. Liaise with the IAS Product Company Research & Development team.
14. Work with several layers of customers, sales, project management, product management, end-users and partners.
15. Liaise and assist our project manager(s) deliver sold projects.
16. Work with our Motor Vehicle Industry / General Industry / Service teams on joint opportunities, promoting all Atlas Copco branded technologies.
17. Be able to evaluate customer/end-user joining requirements and customer/end-user specifications.
18. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the customer's processes and organizational structure.
19. Maintain and share customer interaction documentation for all assigned project communication.
20. Attend technical meetings and support the preparation of equipment proposals.
Other Requirements:
21. Educated to degree level or equivalent preferably in Engineering, Business or similar.
22. Demonstrable record of commercial experience in an automotive environment.
23. Professional and positive attitude.
24. A flexible approach, the ability to work on own initiative and under pressure.
25. Experience working in a fast-moving environment and be able to demonstrate good time management and organizational skills.
26. Comfortable presenting to customers.
27. Ability to represent us externally in a highly professional and credible manner.
