Role Purpose: The Project Manager Schedules and delivers projects for the operational build team with the primary purpose of tracking the project/s to ensure that projects are delivered within the agreed envelope of time/cost/quality. Defining scope, programme of work, and resource availability to ensure that Wildanet’s FTTP network objectives are achieved. Capable and competent to lead projects from foundation/fundamentals through to delivery and retrospective review.
Main Responsibilities:
Deliver projects using best practices and principles within a PMO environment.
Produce and control project documentation.
Provide work‑packs and associated instructions.
Manage risks and implement threat‑mitigation strategies to reduce the impact on project delivery.
Allocate and apply resources (internal and external).
UPRN/Build Stage/Status/RFS held in Dynamics; single Build Data Owner with named stewards (Wayleaves, Permits, D&P, Materials).
Maintain sequential stage flow; post RFS promptly on QA/Validation. Mark every UPRN as Funded / Non-Funded / Incidental /version-control changes; publish weekly consumption vs forecast by item family.
Track and monthly reconciliation of Permits, Wayleaves, D&P, Fibre Support costs, delivering accurate spend details to Finance business partner.
Own daily/weekly/monthly outputs—RFS deltas, portfolio stage mix, materials variance, finance pack, exceptions—via Power BI/Excel.
Uphold timeliness/completeness/validity/accuracy; escalate via a formal change/exception log.
Person Specification
You must have excellent IT skills, particularly in Excel, Project, PowerPoint and other Microsoft 365 applications and have worked in roles that have demanded a strong level of IT literacy. You must be able to attend the office for a minimum of 3 days per week.
Knowledge of:
Project management practices and principles (hybrid/waterfall/agile)
FTTP roll‑out topologies and methodologies.
Contract management.
Data governance in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (or equivalent CRM), including UPRN lifecycle, picklists, and change control.
BDUK programme rules and reporting expectations.
Reporting & analytics: Advanced Excel (incl. Power Query/Pivot), Power BI dashboards and data modelling.
Materials management concepts: BoM baselining, version control, consumption and forecasting.
Finance alignment: Cost buckets (Permits, Wayleaves, D&P, Fibre Support), reconciliations and forecasting.
Qualifications:
Full UK driving licence
Project Management Practitioner (APM/Agile/Prince2/SAF etc.)
Experience:
Track record of delivering projects within a time, and budget critical, environment
Coaching for improvement and working to quality standards
Experienced in using various network design software packages and GIS systems.
Working knowledge of Openreach processes, procedures, and accreditation requirements.
Excellent IT skills, particularly in Excel, Project, PowerPoint and other Microsoft 365 applications.
Significant experience in a role that demanded a strong level of IT literacy
Working cross-department managing multiple stakeholders
Reading and interpretation of complex technical documents and processes
Commercial governance and financial accounting experience an advantage.
