Position Summary
The successful candidate will join our busy team providing a Consultant Ophthalmology service for inpatients, day cases and outpatients, with continuing responsibility for the patients, their care and the effective running of the department.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide a Consultant Ophthalmology service for day cases and outpatients
* Deliver specialist lacrimal and oculoplastic expertise to serve the local population
* Participate in the Consultant on call rota (1:8)
* Carry out teaching duties and engage in the education programme of junior medical staff, nurses and AHPs
* Supervise and train junior hospital doctors
* Participate in clinical audit, evidence‑based practice and clinical governance within the department
* Engage in regional sub‑speciality audit and clinical governance, maintaining continuous professional development (CPD)
* Keep informed of latest Trust news and events via the Trust’s social media accounts
