About this Position
Responsibilities
* Lead stress analysis of assigned components, ensuring compliance with all technical, fit, form, and functional requirements.
* Perform detailed 2D and 3D FEA, including modelling of contact, friction interfaces, and elastic-plastic behaviour.
* Collaborate with global engineering and support functions (life management, heat transfer, materials, design) as needed.
* Interface with design engineering teams to ensure robust and optimised solutions.
* Support technical reviews and deliver presentations to internal and external customers (systems technical reviews, design reviews, analysis reviews).
* Produce Design Study Summaries / Design Record Books to substantiate and document engineering activity.
* Contribute to component life assessment activities (fatigue, damage tolerance, fracture mechanics).
* Provide input to aftermarket services and repairs where relevant.
Experience Required
* Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Aerospace/Aeronautical, or related engineering discipline.
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in gas turbine stress analysis.
* Strong knowledge of 2D/3D stress and structural analysis of gas turbine rotating and/or static components.
* Proficiency in finite element modelling tools, including:
* ANSYS Mechanical APDL / Workbench
* Meshing tools (e.g. Hypermesh, UG NX)
* CAD tools (e.g. UG NX)
* Understanding of advanced analysis techniques: non-linear analysis, frictional contact, elastic-plastic behaviour.
* Experience in component life analysis (fatigue, fracture mechanics, damage tolerance).
* Familiarity with aftermarket services or repair engineering (advantageous)
