Job Title: Multi-Franchise Payroll Officer
Location: Glasgow – Central officer
Salary: £28-32k per annum, depending on experience

About the Role
This role involves managing payrolls with differing pay schedules (weekly, fortnightly, and monthly) and ensuring all reporting deadlines are met while maintaining compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies
In addition to end-to-end payroll processing, you will provide analytical reporting to the finance and leadership teams, helping identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. You’ll ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all payroll functions while adapting to the unique requirements of each franchise.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage payroll processing for employees across multiple franchise locations.
• Ensure accuracy of employee records, timesheets, and salary payments.
• Process and submit pension contributions, including Nest pensions administration.
• Prepare and submit RTI (Real Time Information) to HMRC, ensuring all statutory deadlines are met.
• Resolve payroll queries promptly and professionally.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
• Work collaboratively with finance to ensure smooth payroll operations.
• Produce payroll analysis and reports for management decision-making.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a proactive and highly organised Payroll Officer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can confidently manage payroll across multiple sites. You’ll have strong attention to detail, excellent numerical skills, and the ability to work with discretion and integrity. Experience with BrightPay and Nest pensions is desirable, along with a solid understanding of HMRC processes and payroll legislation. Experience producing payroll analysis and management reports to support decision-making.
You will have:
• Proven experience in a payroll position, ideally managing multi-site or multi-franchise payrolls.
• Knowledge of UK payroll legislation, tax codes, and statutory requirements.
• Experience using payroll software – BrightPay experience is desirable.
• Strong understanding of pension administration, ideally with Nest.
• Confidence handling HMRC submissions and resolving queries.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines.
• A professional and confidential approach to handling sensitive information.
