Our Building Services division provides complete Facilities Management of properties throughout the UK, providing mechanical and electrical engineering support, cleaning, catering and grounds maintenance on a planned and reactive basis, using technological solutions to manage our teams in the most efficient ways.
We are looking for a Mobile Handyperson to join the team on our Kent County Council contract.
The purpose of the role will be to carry out ad hoc Reactive Maintenance & Scheduled PPM works. The role will also encompass Small Works and emergency procedures as required and inclusion in the out of hours call out rota and you would report directly to a supervisor
This is a mobile role covering different locations throughout Kent so a full clean driving license is essential.
What you’ll do:
Have a Self-motivated ‘can do’ attitude which is required to work within the current mobile teamCarry out general handyperson ppms, this will include working at height tasks ( mobile towers, Mewp and scaffolding, working in a fast ever-changing environmentInstalling and erecting mobile towers and work from MEWPSComplete Painting & Decorating tasks to include working at heightInstall shelves, pictures and noticeboards, dispensersFlooring repairs to include minor carpet tiles, repairs to lino and associated sealantCarry out replacement and installation of locks( non Fire Door )Complete general duties including furniture churn as required with manual handlingSeasonal gritting to the estate as directed by the gritting plan within working hours, this may be required out of hours due to inclement weatherEnsure ALL maintenance & inspection records are completed and submitted on a timely basis using the mobile APP and CAFM systemAs and when required, help with other PPM and extra work requirements in adherence to set engineering standards in accordance with HASWA requirementsGood IT skills to update records on mobile devices and laptops where applicable, able to complete General IT requirements unaidedGeneral Plumbing and tap, pipework repairs, clogged drains and blocked toiletsGutter cleaning at high level from MEWPS, scaffolding and carry out associated repairs

Previous experience in building fabric maintenance / or hold relevant qualification which meets the criteria of the job description,Understanding of ppms and reactive SLA’sFlexible and proactive approach in a physically demanding environmentParticipants who are willing to develop and learn to self-deliverAbility to provide efficient time management and organisation of workload to ensure effective completion is achieved on timeAbility to work unsupervised and be proactive whilst working across the estate's buildings in reporting health and safety issues to the SHEQ teamGeneral IT Skills and operating a mobile phone is essentialGood Communication skills and an ability to create trust with stakeholders
