We are offering an exciting new opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our SEND team. We are hopeful that there in the future there may be the opportunity for progression for the right candidate. This role is fixed term up to July 2026.
We are looking for candidates who have:
1. Solid experience of working with children with a range of SEND (preferably holding a T.A. qualification)
2. An understanding of the national curriculum framework and know how to adapt activities to suit the needs of the learner
3. Experience of delivering, monitoring and recording impact of small group and individual interventions
4. A good understanding of how to modify and adapt the school day to meet the needs of an individual child
5. An ability to be flexible, positive and good humoured; proactively seeking creative ways of meeting children’s needs
6. Good levels of written English
7. Excellent interpersonal skills
The successful candidate will be required to:
8. Assist in the planning of individual or small group interventions. These will focus on cognition and learning, communication and interaction or sensory and physical
9. Assist in the delivery of individual or small group interventions. These will take place both in and outside of the classroom
10. Support in the monitoring the impact of interventions, by completing pre and post intervention assessments and record using school systems
11. Be involved in home/school contact under the supervision of the SENCo and Deputy SENCo
12. Provide assessment feedback to teachers
Working 11 hours per week, during term time
Grade 13, (Points 6-11) Salary £25,989 - £28,142
Actual starting salary £6,548
