Job Description
AECOM is offering an exciting opportunity to join our award‑winning Soil, Groundwater and Remediation Team. The role involves delivering Phase 1 environmental assessments, ground investigations, routine monitoring tasks, and project management from desk studies to remediation design.
Responsibilities
* Deliver Phase 1 environmental assessments, ground investigations and routine monitoring tasks;
* Work independently to ensure technical quality, budget control and programme adherence;
* Support the preparation of fee proposals for internal and external clients;
* Manage projects from desk study and feasibility, through delivery of site investigations and data interpretation, to remediation design and delivery.
Qualifications
Education:
* Ideally, a minimum of an undergraduate degree in an environmental, science, or engineering‑based subject.
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
* A good understanding of contaminated land assessment regulations and guidance;
* Working knowledge of CDM regulations and site management;
* Development of conceptual site models;
* Qualitative risk assessment;
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write clear, concise technical reports and documents.
Field Experience:
* Hands‑on experience with field investigation, including site management, drilling supervision, collection of groundwater and ground gas samples, and supervision of remediation activities.
Other Requirements:
* Full driving licence;
* Willingness to travel within the UK and work away from home for periods of time;
* CSCS card holder.
Location
Role can be based at our offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Chesterfield, Croydon, Manchester, Plymouth, with an option for hybrid working.
