1:1 Teaching Assistant (SEND) - Bath Location: Bath Start Date: June 2026 Daily Rate: £95 - £120 (dependent on experience) Contract: Long-term, full-time We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEND provision in Bath from June 2026. This is a long-term opportunity ideal for someone who is passionate about making a real difference in a child's life. About the Role You will be working on a one-to-one basis supporting a pupil with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The role involves helping the student access learning, develop social and emotional skills, and build confidence in a nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities Provide tailored 1:1 support to meet the pupil's individual needs Assist with both academic learning and emotional development Implement strategies to support behaviour and engagement Work closely with teachers and SENCO to track progress Promote a positive, encouraging, and inclusive atmosphere About the Pupils / Job Specification The provision supports pupils with a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. SEMH can manifest in various ways, including: Difficulties relating to mood, such as anxiety or depression Behavioural challenges, including oppositional defiance and more severe conduct difficulties such as aggression Self-harm, substance misuse or disordered eating Medically unexplained physical symptoms In addition, some pupils may have diagnosed conditions such as: ADD or ADHD Attachment disorders Generalised anxiety disorders The successful candidate will be confident supporting children with complex needs and able to respond with patience, resilience, and a strong focus on positive reinforcement and praise.
