Our client are one of the most well established commercial engineering services firms, with a number of customers across FM / Building Services, Rail, Construction and more. They currently seek an experienced Technical Services Manager to coordinate planned and reactive maintenance delivery across a trophy asset in North West London. Guideline salary for this position is circa £65 – 70,000 as a basic, as well as a travel allowance, private healthcare and other standard benefits.
Its a high-profile, client-facing role involving management of a 24/7 operation of engineering teams, liaising with organisational and clients senior leadership, and ensuring engineering excellence, compliance, and customer experience across a complex, live environment.
Candidates must be fully qualified in an engineering discipline (mechanical / electrical), ideally through a full apprenticeship, with at least five years experience in an engineering or technical management role within a similar commercial M&E environment. Along with core technical certificates, additional training such as IOSH/NEBOSH, Water Treatment, or Authorised Person status across Low & High Voltage or Mechanical Systems would be a bonus.
Key functions of this role will include:
1. Leading the on-site engineering team to deliver exceptional technical service standards across all M&E systems
2. Monitoring performance, driving continuous improvement, and taking corrective action where required
3. Acting as the technical authority on site, providing guidance, support, and solutions to complex issues
4. Identifying and delivering additional works opportunities, including producing quotations and proposals
5. Driving energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives across the contract
6. Ensuring full compliance with statutory regulations, company policies, and safe systems of work
7. Supporting the planning and delivery of major stadium events, ensuring maximum system uptime
8. Developing team capability through coaching, training plans, and strong leadership
9. Building strong client relationships and acting as a trusted advisor on technical matters
Experience required:
This is a high-profile and fast paced site, which will require someone experienced in or capable of operating in a pressurised, time-sensitive environment.
10. Strong background in managing M&E services within a critical or complex environment
11. Proven ability to lead. Capable of motivating, develop, and performance manage engineering teams
12. Is technically strong across electrical and/or mechanical building services systems
13. Strong understanding of compliance, statutory regulations, and safe systems of work (PTW, RAMS, SOPs, EOPs)
14. Confident in client engagement and able to build long-term, trusted relationships
15. Experience identifying and delivering additional works and value-add opportunities
16. Remain calm and effective under pressure, particularly in live or event-driven environments
