Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic Consultant Surgeon with a subspecialist interest in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery to join our Breast Unit at the Royal United Hospital Bath. This full‑time position supports the expansion of surgical services and works closely with the radiology team as we transition to an integrated One‑Stop Clinic model.
Responsibilities
* Fully dedicated to breast care with a job plan focused exclusively on the Breast Unit and no requirement for general surgery commitments.
* Contribute to high‑quality oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgery services within a well‑established multidisciplinary team.
* Actively participate in the Breast Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), collaborating with colleagues across specialties and attending MDT meetings to support excellent patient outcomes.
* Participate in clinical audit, attend directorate and departmental meetings, and undertake associated administrative responsibilities as directed by the Breast Service Clinical Lead.
* Provide cover for colleagues during leave periods and contribute to shared team responsibility.
* Encourage and pursue research and medical education opportunities, including teaching and leading projects and courses.
* Attend and contribute to relevant meetings and play a key role in shaping service development.
Qualifications
* Experienced Consultant Surgeon with a subspecialist interest in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery.
* Commitment to patient‑centred care and high‑quality standards within a multidisciplinary setting.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with the radiology team and support the One‑Stop Clinic model.
* Interest in clinical audit, research, and teaching.
* Willingness to participate in department governance, meetings, and shared cover duties.
