SEMH Primary Teaching Assistant
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate SEMH Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Bexley on a permanent, full-time basis. This role is based within a small, specialist resource provision supporting pupils from EYFS through to Year 6 with social, emotional and mental health needs.
The salary for this post is £25,354+ per annum, dependent on experience.
As an SEMH Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with children who present with behavioural challenges, helping them to engage with learning, develop emotional regulation strategies, and build positive relationships. You will be part of a dedicated team that places nurture, consistency, and structure at the heart of its practice.
The Role
·Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis
·Assisting with learning activities across the primary age range
·Implementing behaviour support strategies and individual plans
·Contributing to a safe, calm, and inclusive environment within the resource provision
The successful SEMH Primary Teaching Assistant will have:
·Demonstrable experience working with children with SEMH and complex behavioural needs
·Confidence managing challenging behaviour in a positive and restorative way
·A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
·Strong teamwork and communication skills
