We have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Operations Manager to join our team, based at our Liverpool site.
The role will report to and support the General Manager with the day to day management of all warehouse activities, store order fulfilment and associated processes/procedures.
You will be responsible for the warehouse management team and its overall performance as well as driving continuous improvement across the distribution centre. The role will require a flexible working pattern to support the 24 / 7 nature of the operation.
Key Accountabilities
* Leadership of a highly demanding FMCG distribution operation
* Responsible for all warehouse operational departments/functions within the DC, RRU operation
* Driving continuous improvement within those areas
* Maximise accuracy, productivity and space utilisation
* Ensure that training is ongoing and specific to meet the current and future needs of the operation
* Effectively manage the fluctuating workload and manning levels within agreed overall costs
* Support the labour planning function with input into ensuring cost effectiveness along with operations requirements
* Focus on costs ensuring overspend and surplus costs are managed with scrutiny
* ote and adhere to safe working practices in line Health and Safety Legislation
Experience/Skills
* Senior Leadership experience in an FMCG warehouse
* A passion for service excellence, and a tenacious approach in the pursuit of objectives & results
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence up and down the chain
* Commitment to develop strategies/plans aligned with the organisational strategy
* Open minded and able to embrace and influence change with all colleagues, including Senior Management
* Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, knowing your customer and your competitor environment
* Able to develop and maintain good relationships and influence at all levels, have the confidence to deputise in the absence of the GM
