Description Costain are the Major Programme Partner (MPP) The T2 Baggage Programme (T2BP) and the Asset Renewal Partner (ARP) for Terminal 1 and 2 on the AMC programme, which are two of the six major programmes of work that Heathrow have committed to deliver within the H7 quinquennium. Costain will collaboratively deliver transformation safely, efficiently, and sustainably with an expert team enabling Heathrow to meet its objectives. This role will sit within the Design Management team for Costain and will report to the Senior Design Manager. A Design Coordinator familiar with Construction, Shell and core and fit out activities is beneficial to work with the Design Management team to proactively support the design management team in the design of Building Construction (Anything from Shell and Core to Fit out) works within the Terminal building including supporting the Design Managers to manage teams permanent works designers, specialist designing subcontractors employed by Tranche 5 to achieve design solutions that are safe, constructible, suitable for the operational environment, high quality, innovative, and are commercially advantageous. Responsibilities Collaborate with clients, consultants, construction teams, and the supply chain as a key member of the design team, supporting Design Managers. Follow the Design Management Plan and associated control documents. Assist in monitoring and reporting on the integrated design and procurement programme, including progress and technical risks. Track design deliverables and milestones throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure design submissions are quality controlled, technically assured, and appropriate for their stage and purpose. Support the management of design changes, escalating issues as needed. Coordinate and schedule design meetings, prepare and distribute minutes, and chair meetings when appropriate. Serve as the main design contact for document control teams, including subcontractors. Work with document control to manage the Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP) and distribute design deliverables in line with the programme. Administer the Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) Common Data Environment (CDE) for timely document distribution, review, and approval. Log and manage design changes, risks, opportunities, and requirements within ACC. Facilitate coordination between design organisations, ensuring regular reviews and a clash-free BIM model. Assist the Deign Manager with the technical reviews of design information from designers and subcontractors, ensuring timely completion and coordination. Integrate construction team feedback to ensure designs are buildable, safe, and fit for purpose. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Essential Excellent communication skills Familiar with working in a complex project with multiple stakeholders in an Aviation or similar environment Proficient with the typical Office digital tools such as excel, word, PowerPoint and web based CDE Desirable 5 years of Design Coordination working for a large main contractor in a complex project environment. Working knowledge of RIBA stages, Building Control requirements, typical client standards and processes, CDM Regulations 2015 and ACOPs. Working knowledge of Heathrow standards and Processes, and BSRIA BG 6 advantages.
