The Role As a Controls Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the installation, integration, and commissioning of Building Management Systems (BMS) and metering solutions across a variety of client sites. This is a hands-on, project-focused role where you’ll be responsible for ensuring systems are installed, configured, and optimised to deliver real performance improvements. You’ll work closely with project teams and clients, bringing a practical and solutions-driven approach to complex building environments. Key Responsibilities BMS Installation & Integration Lead the installation and retrofitting of BMS solutions across client sites Deliver system upgrades and enhancements to improve performance Integrate BMS platforms including Trend, Tridium, and RDM Ensure effective communication across systems using protocols such as Modbus, M-Bus and BACnet Interface with third-party equipment using MQTT, JSON and APIs Commissioning Carry out commissioning activities to validate system functionality and efficiency Support project delivery through close collaboration with clients and internal teams Troubleshoot and resolve integration challenges Contribute to ongoing optimisation of installed systems Technical Support & Delivery Work on-site across the UK overseeing installation and commissioning Produce clear site survey and maintenance reports Provide technical support and fault-finding expertise Maintain regular communication with internal teams on project progress About You We’re keen to speak with candidates who bring a strong mix of technical capability and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset. Essential: Strong electrical knowledge and understanding of M&E systems Proven BMS experience (Trend, Tridium, or RDM) Experience with commissioning, cause & effect, and system specifications Ability to produce BMS graphical interfaces Full UK driving licence Desirable: MEWP licence Experience with Distech or Innotech systems Qualifications: HNC / Degree in Building Services, Electrical Engineering, or similar What’s in it for you?
