A fantastic and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Housekeeping to join our team at Maples Care Home.
This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week on a rota basis between 8.00 am and 7.00 pm, Monday to Sunday.
Job Purpose
To supervise daily domestic and laundry staff to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and a first-class service for residents and the home.
Job Duties
* Understand cleaning procedures for different furnishings and equipment, following training and manufacturer’s guidelines.
* Monitor equipment and machinery condition, reporting issues to maintenance.
* Manage stock levels of cleaning and laundry materials, ordering as needed in consultation with your Line Manager.
* Ensure residents' rooms are prepared for viewings and visits.
* Maintain compliance with COSHH regulations and keep records.
* Discuss and approve replacement equipment with your Line Manager.
* Monitor linen and bedding stock, arranging repairs and replacements as required.
Management
* Ensure staff compliance with COSHH and proper uniform and protective clothing use.
* Plan monthly rotas with approval from the Manager.
* Supervise and appraise staff, encouraging development.
General
* Maintain a safe, clean environment throughout the building.
* Handle complaints regarding domestic or laundry issues following company policy.
* Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
* Work weekly contracted hours as agreed, including some weekends and public holidays.
* Complete mandatory training and facilitate in-house training sessions.
Skills / Requirements / Attributes
* Previous supervisory experience in housekeeping.
* NVQ Level 3 Supervisor qualification is advantageous.
* Initiative and commitment to improving residents' environment.
* Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
