The Role
The Major Account Director will develop, monitor, and manage a team of Major Account Managers to deliver profitable sales growth from Major Account Customers. The role involves participating in the tender process and delivering sales presentations to both new and existing customers. This is a nationwide position requiring extensive travel and overnight stays across the UK.
Main Duties
1. Develop and implement a sales strategy for major accounts focused on achieving set goals.
2. Provide direction aligned with business strategy to manage, motivate, and evaluate the performance of Major Accounts Managers.
3. Identify and maximize revenue from your portfolio of Major Accounts through regular visits to Head Office, regional offices, and large customer sites.
4. Collaborate with the Commercial Manager and Bids & Tenders team to prepare tenders, proposals, and agreements for Major Account Customers.
5. Accompany Major Account Managers on customer visits as required.
6. Monitor service levels at Major Accounts and recommend improvements to Operations.
7. Prepare and submit reports to the Group Major Account Director.
8. Attend and report at regional/national sales meetings.
9. Prepare the annual team budget.
Applicants should have:
* A proven sales track record, preferably within the Hire/Construction industry.
* Strong management skills with the ability to motivate and nurture a sales team.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of negotiating at a senior level.
* Ability to prepare proposals and deliver professional presentations.
* In-depth understanding of customer service.
* IT literacy and sound administrative skills.
* Driving Licence (essential).
