Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right person to lead and shape a driven and motivated multidisciplinary team in the delivery of evidence‑based treatment for working‑age adults with severe affective and psychotic disorders.
Responsibilities
* Oversee a proactive and supportive environment that values staff wellbeing, supervision and professional development.
* Actively participate in service development and shape the quality of the community mental health service.
* Support clinicians in managing and treating caseloads of diverse service users, role‑modeling clinical skills and aiding their development.
* Ensure recovery principles remain embedded in the team’s practice.
* Manage staff resources and budget responsibilities.
* Ensure staff operate within relevant legal frameworks and meet agreed KPIs.
* Oversee staff supervision, treatment interventions, team duty, and act as manager on site of a public building.
* Use clinical skills and knowledge to shape the service, support others in their development, and undertake some clinical work.
* Work closely with Advanced Practitioners and other multidisciplinary team members.
* Participate in the complaints process and serious incident reviews as needed.
* Be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating all patient care using the Dialogue+ framework, and lead staff to provide the highest standards of care.
* Ensure reports by clinical staff for specialist placements, Mental Health Act tribunals, and managerial hearings are of high quality and timely.
* Provide specialist consultation and advice to the nursing team, multidisciplinary team, clients and families, user groups, and statutory and non‑statutory agencies.
* Adopt an appropriate style with staff to achieve group objectives, monitor and evaluate workloads, and inspire effective clinical leadership to develop staff competencies.
* Be conversant and proactive with government legislation pertaining to the Mental Health Act, CPA, National Service Framework, Clinical Governance and NHS Plan.
* Coordinate with the lead from psychology to ensure a range of therapeutic activities are available for clients daily.
* Liaise with other disciplines to ensure seamless care for clients.
* Maintain a high proportion of presence in the office, with flexibility where possible.
Qualifications
* Strong teamwork ethic, sense of accountability, ability to work under pressure, and a desire for innovation.
* Experience in agile working environments and the use of appropriate IT equipment.
* Ability to manage budgets and staff resources.
* Knowledge of mental health legislation and clinical governance.
* Demonstrated experience in overseeing multidisciplinary teams and delivering evidence‑based community mental health services.
