At Charlton Baker, we're looking for two Bookkeepers to join our growing team, located in our Bristol, Clifton, or Wantage offices. You'll play a key role in supporting a range of clients, ensuring their books are accurate, compliant, and ready to help them make better decisions.
Location: Clifton or Wantage offices, minimum of 3 days per week
Contract: Full time, permanent
Salary band: circa £30,000 DOE
In this role, you'll:
* Prepare bookkeeping for clients, including sales and purchase invoice processing
* Carry out bank and credit card reconciliations
* Post monthly journals (payroll, depreciation, accruals, prepayments) and complete month-end tasks
* Prepare and submit VAT returns
* Support clients across a range of industries with their bookkeeping needs
What we're looking for:
* AAT Level 2 (minimum) or equivalent experience
* At least 1 year's bookkeeping experience in practice, or 3+ years in industry
* Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and reconciliations
* Experience using Xero (advantageous, but training available)
* A methodical, accurate approach with great attention to detail
* A team-first mindset, with clear and respectful communication skills
