The Pendlebury Centre Edgeley Road Cheadle Heath Stockport SK3 0RJ Tel: 0161 428 9305 https://pendlebury.stockport.sch.uk Reintegration and Pastoral Manager Hours of Post: 32.5 hours per week Contract Type: Permanent, Term Time only Salary Grade: NJC Scale 5, points 12 to 17 - 28,598 to 31,022 FTE (salary will be pro rata to the part time, term time hours) Start Date of Post: As soon as possible The Pendlebury Centre is a specialist SEMH Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) committed to supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Guided by our mission: Believe In Your Future, we provide a nurturing, consistent educational environment that promotes emotional wellbeing, academic progress, and personal development. We work with students from a wide range of backgrounds, many of whom have experienced significant barriers to education. These may include prolonged gaps in learning, disengagement from school, breakdowns in relationships, and common contributors to school refusal including EBSA. Our approach is rooted in empathy, understanding, and high expectations- ensuring every student feels seen, supported, and empowered. As Reintegration/Pastoral Manager, you will lead the strategic and pastoral coordination of student reintegration back into mainstream education. Central to this role is managing our structured 12-week placement programme, during which students split their time between The Pendlebury Centre and their mainstream school. This dual-placement model allows for a gradual, supported transition, with time at the mainstream setting increasing week by week. The Pendlebury Centre s approach is holistic and student-centred. Through personalised learning and robust support systems, we aim to help every student develop independence, resilience, and respect for others which prepares them not just for reintegration, but for life beyond the classroom. We are looking to appoint a Reintegration/Pastoral Manager to join our highly dedicated staff team at The Pendlebury Centre PRU, which includes Cedars and Pendlebury Paths in Stockport. We are a Local Authority maintained SEMH Pupil Referral Unit supporting secondary aged students. The successful candidate in this new and exciting role will: Work under the direction of the Senior Leadership Team to support the PRU, which has a national reputation for outstanding provision that maximises student progress, achievement, reintegration into their mainstream school and preparation for adulthood. Develop effective and positive relationships with students mainstream schools, and other agencies that support students learning and wellbeing in their mainstream schools. Build positive relationships with parents/carers, and other agencies to ensure regular attendance and good progress is being achieved at The Pendlebury Centre and mainstream school. Ensure students are successful with their reintegration either back to their mainstream school or a suitable specialist provision. Work with the Designated Safeguarding Lead to address any safeguarding issues that may arise. Develop a working relationship with multi agencies to obtain further support for our students during their reintegration plans Could this be you? An outstanding and reflective practitioner with a passion for improving the life chances of our young people and their families based within Stockport. Provides effective pastoral care for all students Is aware of the latest developments, legislation and research on reintegration and school avoidance, including ESBA. Ensures all statutory requirements with regard to pastoral support and student reporting are fulfilled. Collects, analyses, and utilises data effectively to drive improvement, as required - e.g. attendance, academic engagement, punctuality, behaviour and exclusion data. Works with the Senior Leadership Team in developing strategies and policies for the development of the reintegration programme within the Centre. Strongly promotes and reinforces the policies and systems of the Centre, and actively supports the work of the Senior Leadership Team to secure positive relationships with parents and outside agencies. Able to develop positive relationships with mainstream schools to ensure a smooth transition back into mainstream school. Work collaboratively with form tutors and SENCO to ensure any reintegration issues are addressed and suitable support is put in place to ensure the student can thrive. This will include looking at the personalised learning plans for students and ensuring their needs are being met by the Centre. Contributes to the overall development of the Centre; supports the implementation of school policies; supports school events and extra-curricular activities.
