Job Title: Planner
Reporting to: Project Manager
Purpose of the Position
The successful candidate will apply professional project management and work to the highest Health and Safety standards, allowing Omexom to build and maintain a strong reputation for the safe, on-time, and on-cost delivery of projects to the client’s exact specifications.
Given the nature of our work in Ireland and the UK, there will be a requirement to work and stay overnight in the UK/Ireland on a regular basis.
This post will require a considerable degree of commitment, flexibility, and adaptability.
Responsibilities & Duties
Including but not limited to the following:
1. Addressing issues that arise and changing plans accordingly
2. Liaising with sub-contractors and suppliers to organise the phases of the construction development
3. Producing tender plans to support bids
4. Creating, maintaining, reviewing, and administering construction schedules and plans
5. Liaising with the production and technical team
6. Ensuring the progress of the project is running to time scales and cost plans
7. Using Primavera P6
8. Acting as a role model for Omexom Company Values
Governance
Interfaces and relationships with key stakeholders:
9. Client representatives
10. Supplier representatives
11. Business Unit General Manager
12. Operations / Project Managers

Person Specification
Qualifications and Experience
14. Experience working on major projects within the energy sector, preferably in electricity transmission
15. Proficiency within Primavera P6, including:
Resource and cost loading
Generating Earned Value reports
Producing graphic and tabular progress reports
16. Expert planning and scheduling knowledge
17. Ability to develop programmes from first principles and critically interrogate suppliers’ programmes
18. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
19. Good knowledge of NEC3 and its application to the programme
20. Good knowledge of CDM and its impact on the programme
21. Accurate and concise report writing and presentation skills
22. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
23. Strong computer literacy in MS Office and MS Project
24. Proficiency in MS Excel: including look-up tables, filtering, data manipulation, summarisation, and Excel functions
Desirable Criteria
25. Significant construction experience on major multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects
26. Knowledge in Construction Management
