Project Engineer - Capital Projects\n\nOur client is recognised as a trustworthy and respected manufacturer of plastic products within it’s Industry. Established over 30 years ago the company offers employees secure employment and longevity of service.\n\nAs part of their ongoing growth, they now have an opportunity for a Project Engineer to oversee key engineering and capital Cap-Ex projects. This is a critical role responsible for the successful planning, execution, and completion of strategic capital projects that enhance production capabilities, improve efficiency, and support long-term growth.\n\nThis position requires a highly skilled and experienced individual who can work cross-functionally with internal teams and external vendors to deliver results.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Lead the end-to-end execution of Cap-Ex and other significant engineering projects, from initial concept to commissioning and handover.\n\n * Develop detailed project scopes, budgets, timelines, and risk assessments.\n\n * Coordinate with internal departments (Health and Safety, Production, Quality, Distribution, and Finance) to ensure project alignment and support.\n\n * Strong management of external contractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.\n\n * Monitor project progress, ensuring compliance with health and safety, quality, and regulatory standards.\n\n * Provide project updates and documentation to the Engineering Manager and senior leadership.\n\n * Support the development of long-term capital plans and contribute to strategic investment decisions and use of innovation.\n\nRequired Competencies:\n\n * Achievement Focused: Ability to deliver results, execute plans accurately, and follow through on tasks.\n\n * Good Judgement: Capable of analysing situations and implementing practical, effective solutions.\n\n * Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey information clearly to all stakeholders.\n\nCandidate Profile:\n\n * A qualified Mechanical / Electrical Engineer\n\n * A minimum of 6 years of experience in engineering roles (2 years minimum in Project specific work) gained within a manufacturing or industrial environment.\n\n * Proven track record of managing capital projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and vendor management.\n\n * Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, equipment installation, and process improvement.\n\n * Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project or AutoCAD.\n\n * A hands-on approach and fluency in English.\n\nSalary: £55,000 - £70,000 depending on experience
