Location: Hazelwood Children’s Home – Fleetwood
Salary: £26,350 - £30,050 (depending on experience and qualifications)
Earnings: £28,950 to £32,650 (based on 5 sleep ins per month)
Hours: 40.5 per week
Annual Leave Entitlement: 251.1 hours
Shift Pattern: 1 shift on, 2 shifts off
Essential Criteria: Driving Licence*
Anticipated start date of 18th May 2026

About the role of Residential Support Worker
We are seeking to appoint a team of Residential Support Workers for our new children’s home in Fleetwood. This is a great opportunity for someone to join an established and successful national provider, supported by an experienced team of residential childcare professionals who share a passion for giving the children in care the very best support.
No two days will be the same supporting young people to achieve their very best. You will have a varied array of tasks whilst on shift; everything from cooking & cleaning, taking part in activities and games, taking Young People out to appointments/meetings, managing challenging behaviours, or even sitting and watching TV with the Young People.
We aim to create a positive, relaxed home environment where the young people feel safe, supported & listened to. You will be inducted by our industry leading, award winning learning & development team, and guided in your role by more senior staff members, including psychologists/therapy team to establish appropriate boundaries, manage behaviours effectively and nurture the young people in your care towards positive futures.
Experience of working in a residential home for children is advantageous, although not essential. Please bear in mind this role is shift work and requires you to work sleep ins at the home at the end of a shift before handing over to another staff team the following day, the rolling rota covers evenings, weekends, bank holidays/public holidays shared amongst the staff team.
As a Residential Support Worker you will have the following:
1. The desire and passion to safeguard, motivate, and inspire the young people in your care
2. Lead, demonstrate, and share best practice to other practitioners in your home. In addition to working closely alongside Psychologists and our specialist therapeutic services team.
3. The characteristics and personality to handle challenging behaviour effectively and professionally
4. Shift work including weekends, evenings & sleep in duties
5. Full driving license is essential
