We have an exciting opportunity to join our Emergency Department team as a Healthcare Assistant.
The care you give to patients will be compassionate, caring, and high quality. You will recognise your abilities and limitations, carrying out only those tasks for which you are trained.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out assigned tasks as part of the clinical team in support of registered nurses.
* Undertake some aspects of care provision without direct supervision, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of patients.
* Work in a manner that promotes dignity and human rights through the adoption of person‑centred care principles.
* Assist members of the multi‑disciplinary team to maintain patients’ fundamental needs and ensure patient safety.
* Carry out duties in support and under the supervision of a registered nurse or Nursing Associate.
* Participate in direct patient care and other general duties within the clinical area employed.
* Provide support and leadership to care assistants, and assist with a range of both clinical and non‑clinical duties.
* Assist with a range of non‑clinical duties.
Additional Key Tasks
* Provide excellent customer care skills to ensure patients come first.
* Undertake a range of delegated clinical care duties to deliver agreed plans of care, acting on own initiative.
* Mentor and support new care and Healthcare Support Workers on the care certificate and act as a ‘buddy’ to any new starters.
* Ensure patients receive high quality clinical care and experience an excellent patient experience whilst respecting customs and religious beliefs at all times.
* Recognise and avoid situations that may be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of individuals.
* Act as an advocate for patients within the department, ensuring a patient‑orientated approach to care delivery and meeting NHS Plan and other relevant guidelines.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Must be currently in the UK.
* Have current experience of working as an HCA in the UK healthcare setting.
* High level of spoken and written English language skills is required.
* Ability to work reliably, be trustworthy and uphold the values and beliefs of the Trust and the Skills for Health Code of Conduct.

* These restrictions may also apply if you are currently on a Graduate Visa and are seeking to switch to a Skilled Worker Visa.
