Job Introduction The Transformation Office is at the heart of the BBC's change and is accountable for prioritising, driving and overseeing all critical projects and corporate level change initiatives across the BBC. It manages a critical project portfolio which, together with other identified strategic change projects, will deliver transformation for the BBC and guarantee the long term future of the corporation. One of these key initiatives is the Sustainability Programme. The role sits within the Transformation Office and works closely with other Project/Programme Managers and Project Directors to ensure collective delivery of our transformation vision and objectives. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities We are seeking a Programme Manager to lead the Sustainability Programme, working closely with the Sustainability team and based at the heart of pan-BBC change, the Transformation Office. This role manages the programme of projects and initiatives in Sustainability, working towards the BBC's sustainability and net zero goals. The role reports directly to the Director of Transformation and works closely with the Director of Sustainability and their team. This role plans, activates and delivers the objectives of the Sustainability programme and supports the Director of Sustainability to monitor, manage, track, measure, report and compel progress in the work that is undertaken across the BBC and with partners and industry experts. The role will also work with team members to support their project plan development and delivery and (as appropriate) with other teams internally and externally that the Sustainability team is working with. Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience You should have: · Substantial experience of project and programme management, including successfully delivering high value, complex projects and programmes through various stages of the lifecycle; · Specifically in the sphere of culture change and working in a fast-paced, complex environment; · Experience of leading and delivering transformational culture change in line with values and behaviours similar to those of the BBC; · Knowledge of and/or a passion for sustainability, plus an understanding of its link and relevance to transformation; · Strong personal resilience and a collaborative nature to convince and inspire stakeholders to work with you to deliver key outcomes; · Strong project planning, management and delivery skills, including a good understanding of benefits delivery, from strategy to realisation; · Excellent influencing and interpersonal skills to effectively champion sustainability and win over colleagues and stakeholders through effective engagement and stakeholder management; · The ability to deal with high levels of complexity and multiple priorities.
