About the Role
As Assistant Information Governance Manager, you will:
8. Line manage the Information Governance Apprentice and two Information Governance Officers.
9. Provide coaching to a team of Senior and Information Governance Officers.
10. Oversee quality assurance, performance management, and operational processes.
11. Act as a key advisor on complex data protection, FOI, and EIR matters.
12. Lead on internal reviews, complaints, and high-risk data protection breaches and access to information cases.
13. Support the development of policies, guidance, and training across the Council.
14. Deputise for the Information Governance Manager and contribute to strategic projects.
15. Influence decision-making on information security, risk management, and compliance.
What We’re Looking For
16. Strong leadership and line management experience.
17. In-depth knowledge of Data Protection, FOI, EIR, and UK GDPR.
18. Experience managing complex caseloads and delivering training.
19. Excellent communication skills to engage with senior managers and external partners.
20. Ability to manage risk, drive performance, and implement best practice.
21. Degree-level education or relevant professional qualifications BCS certificates).
